The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, together with the Cotuit Center for the Arts, announces the eighth year of their collaborative winter exhibit, titled ‘Opposites Attract’, featuring 72 Cape Cod artists’ interpretations of “opposites attract” – literally and figuratively.The exhibit is free and open to the public. A series of child-friendly events are scheduled over the course of the month. School groups will be welcomed to the exhibit for free for the duration of the show, and will be given docent-led tours and art instruction customized to the age level of the children.

Looking for a free, fun, enriching, and unique art experience for your group of seniors this year? You are invited to take a trip to the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod’s ninth annual regional art exhibit. Join us for Opposites Attract this January and February at the Cotuit Center for the Arts!

This unique exhibit features the work of 72 established artists from Cape Cod interpreting the theme Opposites Attract both literally and figuratively.  Groups will receive a FREE guided tour of the show with a trained docent who will lead guests in discussing the pieces displayed. A participating artistwill also be on hand to talk about their work, medium and process of creation.

The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod will present Opposites Attract at the Cotuit Center for the Arts for five weeks and will be running tours from January 12 to February 21, 2015. Group visits will be welcomed throughout the exhibit, but availability is limited, so reserve your date today! A docent will be assigned to each group that schedules a visit.

Call for Artists

The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, together with the Cotuit Center for the Arts, announces the ninth year of their collaborative winter exhibit January / February 2016. The exhibit is titled Balancing Act, featuring artists’ interpretation of a “balancing act” – literally and figuratively.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. A series of child-friendly events are scheduled over the course of the month. School groups will be welcomed to the exhibit for free for the duration of the show, and will be given docent-led tours and art instruction customized to the age level of the children.

All Cape Cod established and emerging artists are invited to submit their art for consideration for inclusion in Balancing Act.

Exhibit Dates:

January 9 – February 20, 2016

Submission Guidelines:

  • Works of art for this exhibition may be for sale with 35% of retail price to supplement the program’s educational component
  • All mediums accepted
  • There are no size limitations! But please include the dimensions of your piece(s) with your submission(s)
  • Include one to three (1-3) short paragraphs explaining the creative process and your interpretation of the theme of Balancing Act
  • All work must remain in show for its entirety
  • Cape Cod living artists only
  • Final acceptance to be determined by a panel of jurors
  • Members of the Arts Foundation may submit up to 3 pieces for consideration; submissions are $20 per-piece for non-members.
    There is a maximum of 3 submissions per artist.  Only one submission per artist may be selected for the exhibit.
  • High resolution jpegs may be sent to: balancingact@artsfoundation.org
  • CDs may also be submitted and can be returned if sent with a SASE
