Allegretto Outreach’s mission is to bring music to the schools of Cape Cod with a hands-on approach through demonstrations. The program began as a small chamber group and evolved into a ten piece group with a common goal: to bring music back in the schools. Funded by private donations and Massachusetts Cultural Council grants. The Cape Cod Foundation manages the Allegretto Fund, making it possible for donations to be tax deductible. The Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival celebrates 32 years of chamber music programming on Cape Cod August 1-19, 2011. The Festival has welcomed such stars as Joshua Bell, Yo-Yo Ma, Midori, Audra MacDonald, and Peter Serkin to the Cape, and will once again bring a bevy of stellar musicians and ensembles to Cape Cod this summer. The Cape Cod Chorale is a community chorus comprised of more than 60 voices, with membership drawn from middle and upper Cape Cod communities. Each year the Chorale presents three concert series in varying venues, from Sandwich to Centerville to Harwich. Recent concert programs have included Vivaldi's Gloria, Mozart's Requiem, Haydn's Creation, A Celtic Celebration, selections from Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, and selections from Gilbert and Sullivan. College Light Opera Company is a 43-year-old non-profit theater that performs Broadway stock musicals to summer audiences. The Town of Barnstable offers free performing arts events by the harbor throughout July and August. Opera New England of Cape Cod, founded in 1977, presents and promotes opera on Cape Cod. The Outer Cape Chorale, Provincetown’s 140-voice community chorus, was founded in 2002 by conductor Jon Arterton. The Chorale presents a varied mix of concerts year round. The Solstice Singers is an ensemble of musicians based in the town of Falmouth.
