making waves Call for Artists

The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, together with the Cotuit Center for the Arts, announces the sixth year of their collaborative winter exhibit January / February 2013. Next year's exhibit is titled making waves, featuring artists' interpreation of "making waves" - literally and figuratively.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. A series of child-friendly events are scheduled over the course of the month. School groups will be welcomed to the exhibit for free for the duration of the show, and will be given docent-led tours and art instruction customized to the age level of the children.

All Cape Cod established and emerging artists are invited to submit their art for consideration for inclusion in making waves.

Exhibit Dates:

January 7 - February 8, 2013
Opening reception on January 5, 7 pm

Submission Guidelines:

• Works of art for this exhibition may be for sale with 35% of retail price to supplement the program’s educational component
• All mediums accepted
• There are no size limitations! But please include the dimensions of your piece(s) with your submission(s)
  
• Include one to three (1-3) short paragraphs explaining the creative process and your interpretation of the theme of making waves
  
• All work must remain in show for its entirety
• Cape Cod living artists only
• Final acceptance to be determined by a panel of jurors
• Each artist may submit up to three (3) pieces for consideration
• High resolution jpegs may be sent to: makingwaves@artsfoundation.org
• CDs may also be submitted and can be returned if sent with a SASE

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: November 9, 2012.
Artists will be notified of the decision by November 30, 2012.

If selected, work must be delivered by artist to the Cotuit Center for the Arts on Wednesday, January 2 or Thursday, January 3. Work must be picked up from the Cotuit Center for the Arts either Monday, February 11 or Tuesday, February 12.
