Funding available for Cape Cod Artists
Hyannis, MA  (March 9, 2016) – The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod (AFCC) is pleased to announce the second annual Spring Fellowship Program.  An online application for funding is now available on the Arts Foundation’s website. The deadline is Monday, April 25, 2016.
The goal of the AFCC Fellowship Program is to provide cash awards to empower emerging and established Cape Cod artists at critical stages in their creative lives and professional development.  Fellowships are awarded to applicants based oncraftsmanship, artistic quality, and creative ability as evidenced by the original work submitted. In 2015, the AFCC awarded its first Fellowship to Richard Neal in the area of Visual Arts.
“Winning the inaugural Arts Foundation of Cape Cod Artist Fellowship was a wonderful event for me. In practical terms, the grant money paid most of my studio rent for the year. The award helped even more in peripheral ways – I had an exhibition at the Cape Cod Museum of Art and through that show and the media many more people became aware of my art and what I do. Please support the Arts Foundation which does so much to raise cultural awareness and strengthen the Arts on Cape Cod,” said Richard Neal.
The AFCC’s Spring 2016 Fellowship Program will award three fellowships of $1,500 each in the following disciplines: visual arts, performing arts and written word.
“It is important for the Cape community to recognize and support our local artists, and the AFCC Fellowship Program is one of many initiatives we hope to build upon,” according to Julie Wake, the AFCC’s Executive Director.
Fellowship funds are made possible by the proceeds of the AFCC’s Patron Program and the annual Pops by the Sea concert.
Guidelines and an online application can be found on the AFCC website  www.artsfoundation.org.
