We realize that transportation expenses can be prohibitive for many schools. To help cover the transportation costs associated with visiting Wild Things, schools may consider applying to their parent-teacher organization or for reimbursement for their travel expenses or to your Local Cultural Council. For more information about the LCC program, please visit www.massculturalcouncil.org/programs/lccgrants.asp.We also encourage you to take advantage of the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s Big Yellow School Bus grant program. These grants help schools meet the transportation costs of educational field trips to cultural institutions and events across the Commonwealth for their students. Now in its fourth year, Big Yellow School Bus has helped thousands of Massachusetts students take field trips to nonprofit cultural organizations across the Commonwealth. Students have visited more than 185 destinations, from large Boston-based venues to regional sites. Any Massachusetts school, preK-12, is eligible for a $200 grant to be used during the 2011-12 school year (one grant per school per year). Funding is limited, and grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information please visit www.massculturalcouncil.org/programs/bigyellow.asp.
