Arts Foundation of Cape Cod announces Annual Pops by the Sea T-shirt Design Competition

February 17, 2016 – For immediate release

Centerville, MA The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is pleased to announce the Annual Cape-Wide Art Scholarship T-shirt Design Competition. This competition is open to every 5th through 12th grade student living on Cape Cod, including those in public, parochial, private, charter, technical, and home schools.  The winner’s original art will be featured on the official T-shirt for the 31st Annual Citizens Bank Pops by the Sea concert on Sunday, August 14, 2016.

The winner of the Annual Pops by the Sea T-Shirt Design Competition will have the opportunity to share his or her talent with a wide audience of concertgoers, sponsors, and volunteers on the day of the event.  We will invite the winner and a guest to sit at our VIP artist’s table on the day of the concert.

The official T-shirts are proudly worn by over 300 of our concert volunteers and will be sold to the general public.  In addition, the contest winner will be awarded a $250 cash scholarship and will be featured in our 2016 Pops by the Sea program book.  The winner’s school art department will also receive a $250 cash award.

All proceeds generated by the T-shirt sales will benefit the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, whose programs support, promote, and celebrate the arts, culture, and heritage of Cape Cod.

“We love this fun and inclusive art competition.  It gives young artists an opportunity to be seen and challenges their design and critical thinking skills.  We are a community that values the arts, and it shows in our T-shirt design archives,” said Julie Wake, Executive Director of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod.

The closing date for the competition is March 23 at midnight.  This year our application process is exclusively online.  Please visit www.ArtsFoundation.org to enter.

An exhibition of the finalists’ work and a reception honoring the winners will be held on April 14, 2016 at the Sandwich Glass Museum, where the the Pops by the Sea commemorative painting will also be unveiled.
