Recap of Winter Art 2017
The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod will host its Annual Member Winter Art Exhibit January/February 2017 at the Cotuit Center for the Arts. The 2017 exhibit is titled Personal Space, and will feature local artists interpretations of that theme. All Cape Cod established and emerging artists submit art for consideration and are selected by jury. The exhibit will open with a invitation-only reception in January 2017 and will run through February 2017.
Darci Hanna has been a member of the curatorial team in the Bakalar & Paine Galleries at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design since 2007. Her most recent exhibition of international artists inspired by scientific research, data, and natural phenomena is entitled, “Encircling the World: Contemporary Art, Science, and the Sublime.” Previously, she held positions at Mass MoCA, the Williams College Museum of Art, and the Clark Art Institute.
Chloé Zaug is the Assistant Director of the Bakalar & Paine Galleries at MassArt. Zaug has her MA in Art History from Tufts University and has previously worked at Howard Yezerski Gallery, Boston; Miller Block Gallery, Boston; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; and deCordova Sculpture Park & Museum.
Interactive Fun for Kids
Keeping younger arts patrons in mind, art work for the show will be displayed at a height of 4 feet throughout the exhibit – right at children’s eye level and some of the artists themselves will drop in to discuss their works with the students as they tour the exhibit. The visit to Personal Space is accompanied by a hands-on workshop in the Art Barn, where students will create their own piece inspired by the exhibition.
Plan a guided visit to the exhibit between January 9 and February 11 by contacting Kevin Shanley at KShanley@ArtsFoundation.org or calling 508-362-0066.
Big thank you to our 2017 Winter Art Sponsors!
