AFCC to Award Over $15,000 in Fall Grants

(Centerville, MA, November 10, 2015) – On Thursday, November 19th, the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod will be awarding over $15,000 in grants to local organizations at an Awards Reception at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The Arts Foundation was able to grant awards to 17 of the 54 organizations who applied for funds for special projects including educational institutions, small and large arts organizations and also to non-arts organizations with arts-driven projects. Included in the grants are some exciting initiatives including support of the Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod’s Arts Program, the Veterans for Peace’s Voices of Peace poetry contest, and the Tomorrow’s Writers Today program of the Cape Cod Writers Center. Investments are also being made into new public art projects such as the Creative Place-making initiative in the Cultural Districts in Hyannis.

According to Executive Director Julie Wake, “It is such a pleasure to help seed some of these creative initiatives as well as support ongoing efforts across so many important Cape organizations. ”

The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod grants are awarded to support organizations that help create a strong, stable, and diverse cultural community on Cape Cod and that contribute to the quality of life and economic vitality of the region.
